when与which的区别是：
1、when是关系副词，在从句中做状语，which是关系代词，在从句中做主语 宾语 表语
2、 when用在定语从句中，没有意义，起连接作用，在从句中做状语. which在定语从句中也没有意义，在从句中做主语，宾语
例如：the time when he will return is not decided yet.他回归的时间还没确定
the house which he has bought is being repaired 他买的新屋正在装修
3、when 用在名词性从句中意思是何时 which用在名词性从句中意思是哪一个
例如：I don't know when he is going back.我不知道他何时回来
I don't know which one to choose。我不知道要选哪一个
when 表示时间，在定语从句中作时间状语。
I still remember the year when you graduated from No.8 Middle School.
我依然记得你从八中毕业的那一年。
I’ll never forget the day when the great scientist came to our school and give us a speech.
我永远不会忘记那位伟大的科学家来我们学校并且给我们做了一个演讲的这一天。
whics表示地点，在定语从句中作地点状语。
That’s the school which I studied three years ago. 那是我三年前就读的学校。
This is the factory where my father works. 这就是我爸爸工作的那个工厂。
when和which都是特殊疑问词，前者是“什么时候”，后者是“哪个”，两者所针对的问题一个是“时间”，一个是“人或事”，有本质的区别。
